Film Premiere & 3-City Simulcast: MAY 16th

If you're in Chicago, Philadelphia or San Francisco May 16th, please join us for the premiere of FIRESTORM and the launch of National EMS Week.

Talking Eyes Media and Chronicles of EMS are co-hosting a 3-city live streaming event at the following locations:

Philadelphia — 8-10pm @ Fado Irish Pub
Chicago — 7-9pm @ Fado Irish Pub
San Francisco — 5-7 pm @ Gordon Biersch Brewery

We'll share the movie, food, drink and lively conversation between the three locations.

Every minute in the United States, an ambulance gets turned away from an emergency room because hospitals are simply too full. In Los Angeles, where the wait time in some ERs is as long as 48 hours, the entire 911 system is being challenged in ways that are alarming. FIRESTORM is a feature-length documentary that examines the health care crisis through the prism of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The LAFD handles all emergency medical services for the city of Los Angeles, and currently 82% of the department's work is medical, rather than fire-related. Eleven hospitals have closed in just five years in LA, and the challenge of delivering more than 500 patients per day to a shrinking number of hospitals is overwhelming to LAFD paramedics. With resources strained, and 911 being used for everything from heart attacks to stomach aches, LAFD paramedics have become virtual 'doctors in a box'. FIRESTORM asks, who will rescue the rescuers?
